Here's yesterday's update! You can read more about it at the new site:

In other news, if the Orphaned Works Bill passes through Congress, I might be forced to take all my artwork off the Internet to keep it from being LEGALLY STOLEN. Read more about the bill HERE.
PANIC BUTTON RESET: The OWB died in committee in 2006. It never got to the floor for a vote. It was never resurrected and is not up for consideration, debate, or vote. This is a case of a lazy journalist getting an outdated tip and panicking, with everyone who reads his article running around to spread the panic further and faster. It's dead, Jim, stick a fork in it.
Even when it was a real matter for concern, it did nothing to remove anyone's rights, nor did you have to register all of your copyrights for a fee. And upon being contacted by the copyright holder, the infringer STILL had to pony up compensation for use, even if (in some cases) the use was non-profit.
Evidently the internet kicked the rest of my comment...I was saying I hope the bill doesn't go through, but anyways, I shall now drool over the copious amounts of adult Ranu....
Here is a much better link, since that one is messing up It has interviews and a template you can use to personalize and fax to our state representative.

Cheeko...the claim in that magazine article is pretty false. (and you did an April fools about copyright...shame! Actually I should have known better because I've done a little study of the subject.)
The journalist confuses "Public Domain" with "Orphaned Works".
So rest assured...you can still keep copyrights. ;)
The Orphaned Works Bill certainy sounds ominous. Unfortunately, the only coverage I've seen of it on the net are ranting tirades by irate artists. What they say may well be correct but the tone of their outbursts makes me wonder what more there is to this question.
I'd like to see a calm, well-reasoned article that sets out the facts (for and against) and the costs. Until then, it's difficult to know what to think about it, and even more difficult to feel like taking action. Cetainly one to watch, anyway ...
Oh - nice page btw!

I doubt it would pass. About these past pages and the fangirls gag. I know for a fact that the biggest fangirl is the creator herself... :)
