this one is REALLY nj specific
since our constitution was written, it has always barred “idiots or insane people” from voting. This year, during our election, one of the questions posed to voters was should we eliminate the term “idiots or insane people” and replace it with something a little more sensative?
well, the sensativeity lobby won this round and the phrase was eliminated, making the world of idiotic or insane voters just a little bit brighter :)

I notice it said couldn't vote, dodn't say they could not run and be elected. Of course the terms idiot and elected official are interchangeable.

WOW... if that phrase was in most constitutions, many people COULD not vote! (^-^)
