Transgendered Day of Remembrance 2009

Zycomancer on Nov. 19, 2009

Today is a day of Remembrance for the Trans Community. I'm not asking everyone to make a huge deal over it, but just to reflect on how your life would be if you were transgendered. How much more difficult do you think your life would be? Transfolk have the highest suicide rate and highest murder rate of any minority in America, and most crimes against Transfolk are believed to remain unreported. Everybody has a hard life, we have an extra plot twist to ours. Remember those that have passed, cherish all those that are still with you, and if you can stand up against a single comment of gender intollerence for a man, woman, or anyone else you have made a difference in the world, and in my life.

Thank you to those that have forged the way.
Thank you to those that guide us.
Thank you to those brave enough to stand bold.
Thank you to those that defend us.

In loving memory.
