Which is why you never use a skill unless you null/absorb/repel it, or at least resist it. Unless you know that the enemy is weak/neutral to the skill, in which case, go wild.

I really didn't get the change in analysis in Persona 4. If you have a Persona whose only power is to detect and scan, why the hell can't Rise tell the enemy's weaknesses like Fuuka did? So much SP wasted on trial and failure... So many deaths from spell repels...

I didn't feel the need for support characters... But I do remember that when I was making my "ultimate persona team", Rise was the support. So maybe I just don't like Fuuka, because I'm playing P3 now, and haven't played P4 in a while...
