This is one of those moments of the game where I like to pretend this is what's actually happening. Naoto is running heroically through the rain to try and save a little girl from a kidnapper and Chie is just…on the phone with her…probably at home.
I didn't realize until pretty late that I had two chip jokes in a row, but I don't think anyone will mind.

When I saw this scene in-game, Naoto's words in Panel 2 were my thoughts exactly. I was contributing by playing the game and Chie was nomming on chips. Although...I expected meat or meat gum

I picture Chie sitting down with a big chunk of meat, not chips. I mean, she's always going on about steak, and then there's the meat gum.... and she doesn't even realize it. "My snacks taste like snacks, you want some?" So maybe a sloppy joe in the third panel, which drips out in the fourth? That's how I view it, and avoids the chips joke twice (which still works anyway).

I was always wildly distracted by Naoto's corderoy pants or whatever. Everytime she was on screen, I was like.. I do not like her out of school uniform. Nit picking!
