Let it go. This is one of those cases where The actual game dialogue gives me my punchline for me. I might be slightly paraphrasing, but this pretty much is what Hidehiko says when he sees Mai.
Hidehiko, go ahead and think it, but why say that out loud?
I guess in his defense he just says it to the MC…and it's not like he's gonna run off and tell people.
