sexist

a while ago, trains in the Tokyo area had problems with drunk business men touching and or bothering women… so to fix the problem JR (Japanese Rail) came up with this answer.
(-_-) I did not and still do not agree with their answer to the problem. This just makes the system look very weak…. I feel that punishing the men doing the bothering would be a better solution insted of segregating the women… and this train car is at the farthest end of the platform… Oh yea, women win here!!!
Again, I am very very busy the next 2 weeks… I do not know when I am able to draw Raw Fish or Japan Q&A …
But thanks for coming by to see my photos of Japan.

Wow that would be a tough problem to solve. But yeah, it would be hard to catch and punish all the guys doing that stuff. I guess they just went with what they thought was best. Very strange though.

video cameras? that sounds like a solution.

Crocty... Only 2 cars of the train during those times are reserved for women only.

Wait... So they made it so only women could go on the train? ... Wow, that's retarded...

It Is a shame but yeah, the authorities can't fine all the male passengers [the majority, I'm sure, would honestly be innocent], and can't cease the trains [too many peoples' livelihoods would be at stake]. This also unfortunately increases the possibility of train delays and accidents. I have to agree with Aurora Moon; it's not the best idea, but it's the best they can offer until a better one comes along. Fortunately, it's not Entirely segregated [only a certain time period].

I heard about this before. At first, I didn't agree with it neither. But then a woman living in japan explained it to me. It seemed that the trains at times were so cramped that they couldn't move or actually see the drunks who were sexually harassing them. So as an result they weren't able to report such incidents. And it became so common for it to happen often on a regular basis then. If the women weren't able to report such incidents, then the only solution was to put them somewhere where they wouldn't have to worry about it happening again. It's sexist alright but sometimes things like that can be only an soultion until they find a way to actually catch all the pervy drunks.
