Page description:
The battle is full under way! But Pinky’s favourite sunbathing turret scores a hit. There’s not much damage to the ship, but quite a few men are killed. They’re very worried about the S.S.V.5 though (Pinky’s scout). Lastly, they going to try and run for it.

Commentary:
I did a silly “guess my weight” thing and the prize was a cameo in the page. Baka-sam was closest so she got the prize. She’s the sailor up there. I really don’t like the figure drawing here much generally, it’s a bit stiff and Pinky looks wrong. But on the positive side I loved doing all that red lighting on the character’s skin and I think the last panel worked very well. This is really where I started experimenting with light effects a lot… I was probably spurred on by Subculture’s work on Bilaran Wars, (he had brilliant light effects in that), he’d coloured one of my party pages and I really wanted to emulate his skill with lighting there.

A note:
