Fuck… I’ve had a really long break here. I just couldn’t get this page out I’m afraid. No particular reason, it’s just the old artists block.
Anyway, I finally got a second monitor for my computer! That’s right, now I’ve got two 19 inch LCD monitors for this computer! Yippee! ^_^ I’ve wanted that for ages, but I’ve always had other priorities, now I’ve done it. They don’t take up much room together and I can work on one, with my pallets on the other monitor, docs, DVDs, web browsing whatever. Ah, it’s so good. To give the new monitor a proper Christening I’ve been watching my new Lichtspielhaus Rammstein DVD on it while I work. Some great videos! –A lovely present from mum. ^^
Page description:
The ruling French high command in Tunis are picking themselves up and dusting themselves off, no one seems to be hurt… But the Pasha Bey has been assassinated! The rightful ruler of Tunisia is dead. The native servants have witnessed this and put their own interpretation on it… Then we jump to the poor Tunisian men going seemingly passive into a concentration camp. Rumours travel fast and soon all know of the Bey’s death. It’s all they need to push them over the edge and a riot ensues, probably mirroring the situation elsewhere.
Commentary:
Pain in the arse page! All those people in the last two panels were a real pain to draw and colour. I hated this page, it was SO bloody boring to do, the only fun bits were the expressions and the horses… The smoke was sort of fun too. The rest was BOOOOOOORIING! No tits, no bums, no sexy fighting, no cool mecha, just loads of stupid men. Dull, dull, dull, dull.
I’ve got nothing extra to put here…. I’m way behind with my collab stuff on Pink Skin. Dammit!
Oh yeah! There’s some new fanart up in the Pinky TA fanart gallery Headlining it is this latest Vogue fashion pic
by the lovely Lilika of Not So Adventurousand The Graveyard Shift^_^

Oh my god. Dx All of those little people drawn out...
iowabarbidoll at 8:25AM, June 17, 2006
Holy shee-ot Michael!! How do you do this stuff? The crowd panels are amazing. My favorite is actually the top left panel- it looks like a Rembrandt with the dark shadows and golden highlights. Another awesome page!!!
ZoeStead at 12:23PM, June 15, 2006
SO MUCH DETAIL! I'M BLIND I TELL YOU!!! BLIND! Heh great...no AMAZING work!
DetectiveFork at 8:57PM, June 14, 2006
Wow, you are dedicated to going in there and depicting all those people in a crowd. Kind of like a Where's Waldo? ;-) And I like the texture to this.

once again love the style and detail we should trade banners once we get going
the_silly_girl at 8:17AM, June 12, 2006
WOW!! Another impressive strip. I particularly like the "french devils" part. I was a nanny for a french-canadian family for two and a half years, and BOY was that a challenge as far culure shock goes. I loved the kids dearly, but I HATED the parents. Besides, what person in their right mind would trust a group of people who's idea of "personal space" is right in your face, and often times don't believe in using razors. Thank God those kids had me as their nanny, otherwise they would've been eaten alive by the time they got into middle school. Hell, they'd never even heard of "Star Wars"!
spaz at 5:48AM, June 12, 2006
My favorite part is the beat him part. Very beautiful work as always.
spambot at 10:24PM, June 11, 2006
Your coloring amazes me @_@!
zactheninja at 10:45PM, June 10, 2006
Did you paint this one? It reminds me of old Indiana Jones comics Cool
VegaX at 10:52AM, June 10, 2006
Interesting comments, that about pages being boring to do. I know the pain when its that page or panel that HAVE to be done and you know it wont be fun and take hours to complete. Amazing disipline you got there when most people might fall inte doing a talking heads panel or a text box when they cant handle the boredom. ;)
silus at 1:56AM, June 10, 2006
French devils! Doesn't 2 monitors just rule?
Gillsing at 9:56PM, June 9, 2006
Yes, it was all worth it. You don't get to see crowd scenes like that often, because I suppose that everyone elses hates doing them too.
lothar at 9:49PM, June 9, 2006
Hehehe , i realy liked the last 2 panel !!! it tottlay has the feel of Strategy game , with all the tiney acts of Violence i hold so dear !!!
Nick at 6:56PM, June 9, 2006
Dull you say? Well the last two panels just kick amazing ass good sir. Awesome crowd shots.
subcultured at 3:57PM, June 9, 2006

Coydog at 2:44PM, June 9, 2006
