This is what they saw on the last page! And the speculation that follows…

Commentary:
Ah, a nice simple page for a change, and bang on time too! Man, a simple painted page with no drawn lines what so ever makes quite a nice change, it just takes a moment and then it's done! The usual method (that I use currently), is to do a rough sketch with the tablet, put a transparent while layer over that, zoom in a little and draw over the whole thing again with a finer brush, repeat that process once or twice more then make the last white layer opaque, flatten it with the to drawn layer and get rid of the rest. Then I save it as a new file, set the drawing to “multiply”, lock it and add some extra layers for colour: background, detail, figure and effects. And so on. It's a long process! It gets results, but it's not as fun as the way I've done this page.

I am soooo jealous of your simple page. You totally pull it off too. I hate you. I guess the previous page makes sense now. I didn't understand the fast-moving dialogue until now. I thought maybe they'd pretended to see a tanker, then actually saw the tanker... but I see the 2nd sight was the smoke, yes? Hmmmm. I hope there are no bodies.
