Hey, yall!! I had a lotta fun making this page to wrap up this match!! It looks like Steve-O and his Granbull takes the win!! Lucky, he had the that Focus Band or it could've went a different way!! But for the next match-up we will see Hiro's tourney debut next week!! :)
You could work hard and then youâll get as good as me, and even then, Iâm not an expert by any means. I still need to learn how to make my comics funny, learn how to make custom sprites & backgrounds, figure out how to make some particular special effects and ensure that the characters in my comics are funny.
If I used to make comics at this quality (this was back in the middle of â07)â¦

But now make them at this qualityâ¦

Iâm pretty sure if you work hard enough, you can too.
And no, I still donât class the second example to be an average comic. I still have a lot to do before even I get to that stage. :)
Also, to be honest, Pokemon Stars Version wasnât that great a comic. Sure, it was a nice sprite comic. But it wasnât a good comic. Thatâs something you should be working towards, impressing people who despise the regular sprite comic with your work.
This comic with the second example should be coming out now in July. Hopefully theyâll be of a good standard by then. Maybe then I can help motivate you. :P
And Iâll say what I think every so often. Iâm busy wiuth my studies at the moment so Iâm not gonna be as active as I would like.
But Iâll be brutally honest with you as you wish.
1) The panels are too small; I also recommend that you start making use of a free panel template. It makes the page look less boring when the panels vary rather than look the same throughout.
2) You need to download more professional comic fonts. I recommend you head on over to blambot and dafont so that you can some more interesting ones to use in your comic.
3) You have to improve the quality of your speech bubbles. They look pretty poor. The text touch the borders, the drop shadow is too big and too dark. You also need to have your text centred.
4) Use speech bubbles more. You overuse outlined text too much. Sprite comics is already viewed by many as a âlazyâ comic medium. Donât make yourself look even more lazy.
5) Make your own effects rather than copy and pasting sprited ones. The sprited ones again demonstrate laziness as all I can think from it is that âYou clearly have a more advanced program than Paint, but youâre too lazy to even bother to make your own effedtsâ. Itâs a harsh view, it may not be true, but people will think that.
6) You need to better demonstrate, using a speechbubble with an emoticon in it is not a good enough way to show emotion. You actually need to have the pokemon show it.
And thatâs all I can think of right off the bat. Iâm sure that I could go on and on but I donât have the time to do that. xD But yeah, you seriously need to show in every strip that yes, you did put in some effort into the page. For instance, in this comic Iâve made an effort to make sure that not a single panel in a strip looks the same and that rather than just zooming in and out all the time, I also throw in different angles.
Just try to work on these things and things will start coming along.
Good luck.
OMFG!!!! WHEN DA FUCK DID YOU COME BACK?
Just to let you know, keep up the great work, and btw:
YOU TOTALLY MADE MY CAMEO RULE! HE BEAT UP GHOSTY AAAAANNND HE SWEARS A LOT!
That itself deserves a 5
