Shout it out
Foxy_Kitty_Girl on Jan. 1, 2010
“Someone told me once, that she believed we make life hard for ourselves by keeping things bottled up inside. Whether it be due to shame, embarrassment, fear, pride or some other emotion we don't share the things that are on our hearts like we should. We wallow in them and never realize that everyone else feels the same way. Our conflicts, our dreams, and the things that make us who we are should be free to be spoken out loud.”
The point of ‘Shout it Out’ was to share things about myself I usually don't share with other people, be it something I'm scared of telling for fear or rejection or things I'm proud of but never express.

i grew up gay in a small christian town where nobody ever came out because you were afraid of what would happen if you did. so needless to say, i went through a lot of self-loathing and god-loathing. i wanted more than anything to be "normal", but the irony is that EVERYONE at that age feels this way. some think they're too fat, or too poor, or uncool. everyone is self conscious at that age about one thing or another, some people just hide it better. being gay is like the black hair you hate until you grow up and realize how beautiful it is. how YOU it is. it can be a long road to acceptance, but believe me, someday you'll get there. feel free to PM me if you ever feel like talking about this stuff. i'd be happy to help.

Dear Foxy, I got to like you/your comic and this makes me feel sad. but it is understandable that people have problems growing up and through out live For starts no one deserves to be bullied. bad things happen to good people but no one deserves a bad thing to happen to them. Skyangel and Little Swan are smart and knowledgeable about the things you are going through. Consider their advice. tommy

Oh, and by the way... NO ONE deserves to be bullied, so don't you EVER think that! Bullying is wrong in so many ways so don't ever believe you "deserve" it... S.O.P.H.I.E, remember. If you are still being bullied, then talk to a teacher or a parent... it WILL get sorted, with no repercussions. Trust me, I used to get bullied a lot.

Listen to skyangel really... she's wise, and knows/says all the right things. I think everyone goes through things like this. Me included most definitely. I'm glad that you were brave enough to do this, because it's catharsis. I really hope it has helped you. The person who said that is right, bottling things up won't help you. Just remember, you're not alone. A lot of people care about you, and do go or have gone through this all. And you can talk to us :] I thought the "please don't die grandma" was very touching. I hope she manages to fight through and get well soon for you.

This is a very interesting concept. It would be interesting to know if it helps you feel better. This word 'normal' is a sad one in the English language because it really means 'common' as a pose to 'right'. If everyone was born gay but a few people were born hetero, then being gay would be 'normal'. I'm increasingly finding as I get older that many people have borderline feelings anyway as far as sexuality goes, but prefer to remain within the 'normal' boundaries that they grew up with. I've also heard many guys complain that all the girls they fancied were either spoken for or not interested, so we all have that frustration at times. And you're not worthless hon. We all make mistakes and get shit in our lives from time to time. Life isn't about asking God for help or expecting anything from him it boils down to facing the waves and learning to ride them instead of being swept under.
