It depends on the Music and the Book. If I really loved a book, It usually stays in my head forever. and the Author. My mind burned Jane Austen's words out of my head, but things like Paradise Lost stick with you forever.

music stays in your head years after you heard it last. and even though i love to read and read and read, i often forget how a book ends or even the character names a few months after reading it.

I don't buy as much music as I do books. So it's harder for me to get rid of a cd than a book. Because it takes up so much less space on the shelf it's easier to say, I might listen to it again some day.

I have a hard time getting rid of books. I like to keep them until I have forgotten how they end. Then I read them again. Kinda like recycling
