Yesterday was the 100th anniversary of the patent issuing and military adoption of the Colt model 1911, it has been in service and continued production ever since, it is the gun that won both World Wars, fought the Korean War to a stand still and helped fight the Vietnam war. Today it is still in use by most United States Special Forces, it is the most important hand gun model in the history of firearms, some, myself included, consider it the greatest firearm ever made. So I got a cake for my 1911.
