The Rule of Seven is having, at most, seven characters to focus on at once, because, on average, people can only remember about seven characters at a time. This is why, when character is suddenly featured in a comic after not being in it for several installments, you think, “oh, I forgot about that character!” For example, Lilly the little blue unicorn. Forgot about her, didn't you?
