I want a Stanley Miller Action Figure. Now.

Catch up!!!

JMT: Hadn't thought about that. But, yes, he does! Albone: Thanks.
jmt at 3:36PM, Dec. 6, 2007
Nice! If you drop this art in a Batman book, all the sudden stan seems like Jim Gordon!
albone at 6:29PM, Dec. 5, 2007
Top notch page....very good penciling and coloring. I like what you did with the panel borders too, really adds to the mood and atmosphere of the scene. Very cool!

Ark: Wouldn't be the first time a character in Shades succumbed to suicidal tendencies ... Oh, and yes - it's probably a good idea to keep your fingers crossed for both Stan and Sunil just now! Trevor/Blake: Thanks, guys!
blakechen at 10:12PM, Dec. 4, 2007
Very nice work!

Funny how that one little fibre can tug stronger than all the others, right Mr. Miller? But, of course, one might say the fact that in him the thread actually *is* strong enough to move him to act, despite the metaphorical sea of thoughts hammering him back, marks him as having the quality of heroes (not the invincible kind who fight because they don't have to worry about their safety, but the fragile kind who risk it all anyway), a true sense of justice that cannot abide evil no matter how jaded the mind or weak the flesh...of course, some might also say that its suicidal tendencies in action... I hope Stanly doesn't suffer *too* much damage in the coming scuffle, because I'm really rooting for him here. There's a bit too much of that thuggish kind of evil in this world, most definitely. On other front, I am rather curious as to what will happen to Sunil if he's going through this place knocking on random doors. I mean, just look what Stan found!

JNP: Thanks. So am I ...! Abt: I am so glad you picked up on that line! This sequence doesn't have much humour but what it does have is pretty dark and that's a line that still makes me smile. I like to compare it to all the corny one-liners that the Silver Age heroes would yell as they launched themselves into combat ...! Bustah: Nah ... just another red herring!
JustNoPoint at 6:27AM, Dec. 4, 2007
This is the best page yet! Now I'm worried about Stanley though =(
Abt_Nihil at 6:00AM, Dec. 4, 2007
"I am a bit deaf, as it happens..." love that line :D Great page as usual! Nice creepy expressions in the 2nd panel, and I'm amazed the guy in the last panel actually looks like he's feeling Stan's punch...
TBustah at 5:13PM, Dec. 3, 2007
Oh, I though she was Boo...
DAJB at 11:05AM, Dec. 3, 2007
Adam: Once again, I find my lips mysteriously sealed ...! Alana: Or a victim ... LJS: Thanks! Space: Yup - "doing the right thing" in this instance was anything but black and white ... let's hope he made the right the right decision, eh?
Adam Black at 11:00AM, Dec. 3, 2007
Tell me you're setting us up for a Grand Entrance from Boo. Because if you're not, you should seriously consider doing so. And that's my armchair-quarterbacking for the day. :)
alanajoli at 10:19AM, Dec. 3, 2007
Hurrah! I'm so glad he decided to help. This gives Sunil a chance to be a hero, too. ;)
spacehamster at 8:16AM, Dec. 3, 2007
Ah, ass kickn'. Digging the writing here, the inner conflict of a man who can't choose between a rock and a hard place and has to make a decision fast, and the great work on the facial expressions drives the point home. One of your best pages so far for sure.
DAJB at 7:41AM, Dec. 3, 2007
Maverick: Thanks! And welcome - there's always room here for one more! ;-) Tantz: Aaaw - you knew he'd do the right thing in the end. (Or try to!) cs3: Not sure I know why, but I'm glad you do! :-)
Maverik at 7:17AM, Dec. 3, 2007
Wow, I just found this comic, and it redefines the word "awesome"! Both the writing and the art are fantastic! Oh yeah, and my money's on Stan in this fight. Hell hath no fury like a crazy old man. xD
Tantz_Aerine at 6:38AM, Dec. 3, 2007
I am amazed! Well, I sort of expected him to stay and try to give the girl a chance to flee, but I am still amazed. I love it that he didn't jump to it like many a hero does in comics. Makes it look more real and he looks actually much more heroic, too ;)
cs3ink at 5:52AM, Dec. 3, 2007
Another sub-standard page... Sheesh. Why do I keep coming back here? Oh, yeah... Because this book freakin' ROCKS!
DAJB at 5:42AM, Dec. 3, 2007
Midge: For some reason everyone wants to see Stan in a fight ... Can't understand it myself. ;-) Peipei: Oops - no stick! You don't know how many times I've told him not to go out without his stick! Lemnis: Heh - maybe I should make that the strap-line for the comic!
TheMidge28 at 5:11AM, Dec. 3, 2007
yeah!!! I was waiting for this. but I wonder....hmmm....if these hoodlums know who Boo is.
Peipei at 3:22AM, Dec. 3, 2007
You go grandpa! Knock him out with a stick :3
Lemniskate at 1:28AM, Dec. 3, 2007
Sometimes a grandpa has to do what a grandpa has to do.
