Reminder: If you haven't checked it out recently, don't forget to look in on the BVC Scrap Book here at DD. The last page of DajbDevil is going live on Friday, 22 Feb!
Heheheh...Knew you'd take an unusual path into super-heroism : superpowers are absurd anyway, so why not go really, well, absurd in the storytelling. The poor guy seems as freaked out as the hapless Jerries he's picking off. And you just HAVE to be a superhero to go home and face cream scones, how can you DO that, even to a fictional character?!?
Blenheim: Heh - "Sneaky old guys" ... I may just have to use that as a subtitle! ;-)
Alana: Tee hee! Nice to see I'm not the only history buff around here!
JMT: Thanks!
Freefall: I'm not sure how clear it is in this first mention, but "V2" is meant to be the German wartime hero (named after their "secret weapon", just as Doug is named after the Spitfire). V2 is mentioned a few times in Shades but he doesn't appear. The idea here is not that Doug aged physically but that his abilities were eclipsed by those of his faster rival. Either way, Ryan has a lot to learn ...!
Space: Mmmm - 5's!
Beretta: Thanks. And, yeah - although I tried to make each of the flashbacks enjoyable little set-pieces in their own right, they also have some kind of relevance to the main plot. (I hope!)
Got too old and slow? But you just said they didn't age, not like normal people!
I can see him not being as fast a rocket however.
I don't see a tech solution, like the kid has, working well against powers. Tech can always be copied and used against you, powers are more unique. In theory, everyone could get an Iron Man suit, but there is only 1, no 2, no 4, Ok... about a dozen (and a bottle city) of Kryptonians.
Harry: Thanks, Mr Q. Much appreciated!
Tantz: Heh - I see you've met someone like Ryan before, too!
SoItBegins: Only two ...? And, yeah - Ryan's going to need some blood pressure pills if he doesn't start trying to calm down!
seventy2: Now, if only we can reel you in ...!
Trevor: Thanks. And my favourite flashback is still to come. Think you can wait until Chapter 7? ;-)
Midge: Well, that's certainly Ryan's idea ... not sure what the "old guard" are going to make of it, though ...! ;-)
one/Shane: Thanks, guys!
Albone: Heh - I just had this vision of DC and Marvel super heroes with corporate slogans across their chests like footballers (that's "soccer players" to our US readers!)
It's never too late to get that endorsement deal. Have some sponsorship into the costumes maybe, like pro racing. Or maybe a blimp in the background...oh yeah, untapped potential.
Peipei: Welcome to the scone appreciation society!
Abt: Two weeks ago? All those years "scone-less" - you have my sympathies!
cs3: Thanks!
Albone: Heh - I'm beginning to think I should try to get a sponsorship deal with a scone bakery!
Well, its a good thing he wasn't killed xD It's kind've for the best that he pretends he is no longer alive too in some ways. Mmmmm scones...*dashes toward the fridge* :3
Sky: Heh - have you been peeking at what I've got lined up?! The hard way, it is!
SciFi: Ooh, he's got a lot of smartening up to do!
DocShadow: The youth of today, eh? Always want to talk, never want to listen!

Ahh, missed that plot point. I've only had time to follow the story since just before they met the shaman. Thanks for the clarification.

Ah, I love the good stuff. I mean that with complete honesty.

Someone so eager to go and kick butt is likely to get slapped around a lot before he gets a chance to do it- viable one, I mean. XD

This can go one of two ways. Also: Mr. Young Guy looks to be a little headstrong there, eh?
