Actually, I think she's acting the same way you or I would if we thought the only complete copy of our comics were at risk. Some things you just have to save!

She must not think it's an earthquake. If she did, she'd leave the research and follow the emergency procedures. (She'll be suspended or reprimanded big time, and since the company owns her research, why risk it?) Or she's just acting like all scientists do in works of fiction. Like she actually owns her own research. XD
