Pyrophobia Page 10

Fwoom! Finally, Mackenzie gets both her suit and her superpower!
Being able to shoot fire from her hands was one of the elements the competition required me to include. I wanted to put a slightly different spin on that, which is why I made her suffer from pyrophobia. I thought it could be interesting to explore the psyche of a superhero who is actually afraid of their own power. Sadly, in the space of one 15-page origin story, there was only so much I could do with that.
The Promethean Order is obviously named after Prometheus. No, not the film, the titan from Greek mythology who first gave fire to mankind. See … it all makes perfect sense now!
All art, colours and lettering are, of course, again by E.C. Nickel.

"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." - Confucius. At least, I assume it was Confucius. I just copied that from a someone else's tweet, so it could be completely made up. Sounds good, though!

Great page. It would be hard to believe in a power until it manifested itself.

I know your tastes! ;-)

So much fan-service in one page!

Haha! Too true! Although I suppose, it could be argued, it's hardly an idiom at all when used literally, like this!
usedbooks at 7:06AM, Jan. 15, 2015
The only time when that idiom is actually valid. Any other time and it's a bad idea. (Well, except when creating a backfire to stop a wildfire.) -- Also, ghostrunner, the dead have the most to fear from fire! Lack of body fluids make good tinder flesh. Frankenstein's monster concurs.

Just one more reason why it's best not to be dead!
ghostrunner at 3:24AM, Jan. 15, 2015
even the dead shy away from fire >_>
