064 - Connie The Magician's Grand Entrance!

The great Aila once asked me, “Why don't you have any girls in your comic?” And the truth was…I really didn't know.

When I first started Shiny Things I had my girlfriend at the time part of the cast but after we broke up she sorta just disappeared from the strip and I had never really created another regular female character.

I think it has to do with the fact that though basically all the characters in the strip are males I never wrote my jokes intending them to be strictly masculine in nature. They were ambiguous enough that they lacked a specific gender definition.

But Aila's question got me pondering and that very day I began developing a female presence in the strip.

So everyone please welcome CONNIE THE MAGICIAN!

To celebrate Connie's introduction to Shiny Things this week will be devoted to a storyline involving this little magical lass.
