I have this kind of doubt theme going throughout this comic… I'm kinda shy when it comes to showing my faith to others, and some of these thoughts go through my head.
I'm glad I'm doing this because it helps me get through these issues…
Next update April 10th, 2009.

Yup, I can relate to the main character. Sometimes I wonder if I am letting the cynics win. It's really tough sometimes if you have friends or co workers that are really outspoken against it. It's none of my business to censor them or push my thoughts on them. Then again, there is also this elderly lady at my job that is like WAY too right wing, hardcore, up on a pedestal christian of some sort. You know, the kind that says Obama is antiChrist, and is extremely pushy. She doesn't like talking to me much :P Oh wait, there's a comic page here... I got carried away. But c'mon, you gotta throw in at least 1 huge monster demon XD ;-)

@mlai: It's slice of life. Too early to say what kind of drama there'll be... I'm kinda taking it page per page. Shock Absorber was a name I made up as a kid, and started out as a superhero comic, but I figured it'd make a good title for a religious comic too. @giovanni: It's all good. That's what's variety's about... You pick and choose what you like to read. I'm happy you gave it a chance, though. @EEN: For a long time I wanted to make a comic for God. One with a lighter tone, and not one stuffed full of angels and demons... We'll see how it goes, but I'm hoping to make something at least readable. ^_^

Mlai: I think this is sort of supposed to be a combination of a comic equivalent of praying the rosary combined with some personal reflection on being a modern Christian which if I think it brilliant so far. (I'm always hopeful but wary of stuff like this as I've been disappointed so often in the past. A lot of faith based stuff is well intentioned [or not] but ever so poorly executed even if you actually agree with the person.) Of course as giovanni notes it won't be everyone's cup of tea but that is fine. I think I would find it hard to really get into a Hindu faith based comic for example.

I'm a C.S. Lewis fan so a little faith doesn't scare me off. I takes a lot of courage to put something like this out there given how judgemental a lot of people are on faith and it takes a lot more to make it connect with people and keep it interesting. As long as this doesn't turn into something like Chick Traks you've got my attention and so far you've got my interest too.

religious comic? not my cup of tea

What's the genre of this comic? Is this a religious slice-of-life/drama story? Or is someone going to turn into a superhero? Because the title sounds like it could be either...
