lol at least with my age bracket it was! We didn't get a huge variety of mecha shows back then. iircs all we had was mazinger, the two voltron shows, robotech and transformers.

I expect at a minimum a Rocket Punch here. This guy reminds me a lot of Zabogar, a memory from when I was very little.
