Parental Care

Being a reptile enthusiast, I get a lot of questions about reptiles, particularly snakes (my area of emphasis). One I get quite often is about parental care. When I used to have a snake that laid some eggs, people asked why I took them from the mother to incubate them? And would she take care of them when they were born?
Snakes aren't like mammals or birds. Once the babies are born, they are on their own. They don't feed them, don't burp them, nothing…they are basically little versions of adults that know what to do the minute they hatch.
So– here is a little comic illustrating the difference between snake parents and other parents…

Thanks, guys. Crocty: It also helps if you like snakes. Which a lot of people don't--so they wight not see the humour in it... ;O)

I like that you posted these. Sometimes it's good to see people's old comics. They're alright, but not as good as today's. But MY old comics...UGH...

Hahaha, the bird! Yeah snakes don't care about their many babies :P Hence the reason they have so many! Then they have a better chance at survival. Babiess!
