I really like your art style so far, and like most people are saying I think you should put the lettering over the artwork. Even if its just a one panel (or no panel) drawing, it would add more depth. It looks like a great story tho! Keep it up!
PS what exactly is cherry onigiri? I used to live in japan and this never crossed my palatte.... Maybe you meant together... but still onigiri and cherries??? *goes crazy XD*
