I hadn't expected to feel like I'd written myself into a corner THIS early in the project.

I'd given the team a Dimensional Portal, but at the same time they'd just encountered a character who was introducing them to a plot that didn't sound like it needed “dimension hopping” connected to it at all.

At the same time, I realized that I might want to restrict the Dimensional Portal and what it could do, and use that as a motivating factor to keep the team adventuring, at least until they blundered into this ‘real’ plot.

Whatever the case, I knew I needed to get the team out of this ‘first dungeon’ before they blundered into something they couldn't handle at this point.


… which, of course, didn't sit well with the majority of our heroes, seeing as they have that “Nineteen Eternal” mindset. When you're young and ‘invulnerable,’ the last thing you want to hear from one of your elders is to run away.
