… no, I can't come up with a good reason why Xot's assumed the “Namco Cross Capcom” version of Ryu as opposed to the SFA3 one he's TRYING to mimic.

Part of it is becasue the Namco X Capcom sprites are more versatile in displaying emotion than their Street Fighter equivalents. Part of it's also that I didn't want two versions of the same character on the ‘screen’ at the same time unless they're Afterimage Clone Fodder.


But then, you may ask, why didn't I use the Akuma/Gouki sprite from Namco X Capcom for Xot's other morph? As he also exists in that game.

No idea - other than the fact I forgot it existed until I was already done with those panels.
