I actually went back and checked that Catoblepas was in FFX as well as FFV, because I apparently care about details like that.

I’ve been sitting on this joke for awhile now, too. It always amused me that Square could never settle on one name for their Summons, and instead had to come up with (at last count) 7 different titles: Summons, Espers, Aeons, Eidolons, GFs, Avatars, and Totemas. I wouldn’t be surprised if I’ve missed one, either.

God, I love these ‘Summons’ comics.
