Chapter 1 - Page 5

This one was fun. I got alot faster at doing the inks but due to the number of zombies, it still took a while to ink and colour.
I'm really happy with that second to last frame even though I wasn't sure it'd work when I imagined it.
Also: thanks to everyone for the awesome comments and thanks to my buddy Ashwara, the wonderful artist of Para-ten. Check his stuff out at:

My one concern is that maybe the page is too busy. I've been told it isn't but eh…I still worry.

Just by having a little brat kicking zombies' ass makes this comic ten times worth the reading... this stuff is pure gold.

Mlai , I can't say I've read Orion, but I'll certainly check it out. I love Ghost in the Shell so I think I know how technical we're talking here. So yes, I'm personally very interested in things like tarot, astrology, numerology, and the like and I've picked up alot of things over the years that I plan to use in the comic and other things, I've been researching. To give an example: I have pages and pages of information about Petre and Mia saved in a text file; everything from their birthdays to full names to the numerology behind those names. I also have their full chinese and western horoscopes figured out! :D Let's just say I love technical stuff.

I heart zombies. X3 Even when they are being mutilated.

Heh, an interesting comic. I hope you actually did your research on occultist practices because I love authentic technical stuff on that weird ****. If you ever read Masamune Shirow's Orion you should know exactly what I'm talking about. BTW, I think it'd be better for you if you limit yourself to less panels per page. That would take care of a lot of the "too busy" issue. It'd also be easier to draw for you.

Wonderful, chaotic page. Really fun stuff.
TheMidge28 at 12:22PM, Feb. 13, 2008
as to it being busy...not at all. your illustration is unique and and how each panel is cropped it works dynamically. Great job!
JustNoPoint at 12:11PM, Feb. 13, 2008
I had to learn the same thing ;)

That's a great point, Just, thanks for the input! I treat each frame like its own little illustration and often forget about how one would read an individual comic frame. It requires some thinking on my part to realize these things and I just didn't think about it this time hahah Thanks though, I think if I flip it now, it'll look too weird, but I'm definitely going to think better of such things in the future. :D

Whoa. This page is magnificent! I love how she walks up that zombie as if he's a set of stairs. The only critique I can give is the panel right before the last where she is jumping from head to head... IMO it would it would add to the flow of the page a tad better if the image was mirrored. As it is your eyes follow that panel from top right to bottom left and then your eyes must move back to the right for the last panel. Surely not a huge issue at all! Love it!

I love your art. Your inks are fantastic as well. -Sigh- Now I've got another fantastic artist to admire, it would seem...
