Four Page Update!
FIRST PAGE HERE
==========================================
Ok about my pages Um Introducing Neila, Hal, and by request Nick. That's right everyone's favorate villan from SA 1 is back, and He owns the building! Dont worry though, he rents it out to Starving Artists, so he never gets the rent XD
About Neila and Hal: Neila is a young musician/artist, she's been wandering the streets of this city for 2 weeks trying to find work, money, a place to stay the usual. She wears all grey/black and her coat is bright red with a black scorpion(on back) and black trim.
Hal is her Android/robot companion he keeps an eye on her, and she stored him in her Sax Case while wandering the streets, now he can recharge from the power outlet.
Well I think that's enough info about them for now(man I talk too much), I'll post a full Character Profile in the DD Forum soon (within the next week). If ya'll have any questions feel free to ask.

wow... nick's got his anti-nick club up again. power to the people and all that snizzel! don't know about you but i agree with neaila. Nick is the kind of person to sit behind the front desk pretending to own a department building. it's just a nick thing. and then it turns out his actuelly working for a chicken!!!! or maybe not ^^. it was a good update, besides for the bitchy comments under it.

Grr... Nick. Obviously I'm not the only who feels this way. Personally I don't want him involved at all. He's got this thing about him... makes me want to add him to the "People I'd Like to Point my Finger at, Most Likely in a Menacing Fashion" list (it's a hefty one, I assure you). Seems like nine times out of ten, when he gets involved, he ruins things for a handful of people. Then he comes back with an epic, grammatically incorrect response that's more or less along the lines of "Nyah nyah! The rules protect me OMG LOLZORS". I did something like that once, and recieved an email like that from him. After apologizing, I was pretty pissed off when I found out he did the SAME DAMN THING a month later. Seriously, he's kind of a baby. There's nothing I can really do about it... but since we're on a roll here I'll just say it, what the heck, I hate Nick. Ownership of the apartment complex should belong to someone else. Seriously. Sarah said there's some wiggle room, I request we use it.

I'm going to speak with honesty here... I don't like Nick. Haven't for a long time, actually. Bad stuff went down between us, and aside from which his general writing style never quite sat right with me. It's built up over time, leading to such things as angry posts from me to Nick convincing Drowgirl to blow up my character in the original SA. Other people agree with me. Longtime SA contributors may have seen arguments between me, Nick, and other parties on both sides. In this case, MadCat doesn't like Nick, and Lucky doesn't seem to be completely in favor of him. I don't think people are angry at what you've done, Neila, they just don't like aspects of what found it's way into your update. Now, I really shouldn't do this, but I'm afraid I'm going to talk about Nick for a bit. Like all of us, I believe Nick likes when the comic is focused on him. You could see it clearly in the prominent, villainous role he took in the previous SA, and in the way he frequently requests other contributors to help him with storylines that often deal heavily with his character. Anyway, the point is, Nick wants to be important, and who's more important than the owner of the building nearly everyone lives in? I was almost expecting him to do it, to be perfectly honest. After all, I believe I had mentioned before that ownership of the apartment was up for grabs. Now, normally I try to present myself as a non-biased observer. But I'm going to tell you something highly based on opinion and that, I hope, isn't taken too harshly, what with my position as "organizer" for this thing and all. If anyone but Nick had claimed the apartment, I wouldn't have minded. Almost sad in a way, isn't it? I'd hate to accuse Nick of foul play, since I have no reason to believe such a thing, but I still have a nagging feeling that he would do something like this at least partly to mess with me. Anyway, I don't like Nick, I don't like his writing style, and I don't like the idea of him asserting himself in such a prominent position. I think a big part of it is, if he owns the apartment, then that would imply that I'm working for him. Keep in mind, that I'm holding my tongue on some of my personal feelings about Nick, for the sake of not seeming like so much of a jerk. Anyway, picture being forced to work for someone you don't like. More specifically, picture being forced to work for someone who you used to like and respect, but they said or did something(s) to cause you to lose faith in them and perhaps even resent them. Why am I mentioning this? Because I was honestly planning to organize something behind everyone's back and somehow retcon the fact that Nick owns the building (such as Neila's idea that Nick only claims to own it). But I don't want to lie to people about something like that. This comic has been about the community from the start, and I don't want to hide things from the community. So, for entirely personal reasons, I don't like what was established in this update. And I just want everyone to know that I'm going to be selfish and look for a way to make Nick not the owner of the apartment. I probably shouldn't post this, but to keep this to myself and my circle of close friends would be selfish in a dishonest way; hiding my opinion so that I would appear "righteous" and "just" in front of the other posters, but the truth is that I'm neither. I'm greedy, and I've got a personal vendetta, and you're probably all better for knowing that. I'm not going to delete anything, I'm not going to castigate Neila for helping her friend, I'm not going to make new rules to prevent things like this from happening. I just want to state my opinion openly and honestly, albeit with the language cleaned up a bit.

From the happy lil post on the Starving Artists MB "You can either *apply* for a job at one of the existing stores, or *request* a new place to own or work for. Just tell me what space number you want and what you want to call it." There it is in writing so lets be happy people eh? :D Anyway, I loved it Neila! Your artwork is always fantastic! And the intro was very good and smooth. I really like Hal lol he's a cutie :D ~H

Madcat: Actually I was totally and completely unaware such a rule even existed, my bad. However just a suggestion but you might want to post those rules somewhere in the comic so people know they exist or at least let them know to check the forum. I just asked a friend to toss me into the mix while I'm busy with other things and threw out a few suggestions which she was so gracious as to do so.

I figured his character could really just be a crazy guy that Thinks he owns the building or something, its up for interpretation. He requested I write him into my update with those lines so I put them in, maybe his character was being sarcastic? He is afterall working the nightshift at 1:30 in the morning... Why does everyone get angery anytime I update? And I know he's not really everyone's fav villain, I was very fond of Chaos...
MadCat at 9:12PM, Feb. 3, 2006
what? Does Nick think he's too good to officially apply for the job like everyone else has to?
