Very Obliged to help. ^^;;
I would't mind if a tutorial was made, I'd like to try my had a Z-sprites, seeing as I've done mostly every sprite form at least once. :P
@ Kamikazi productions: "people around 11-15 always think this."
Well, I can see why you don't like to argue, you have a tendency to do it aggressively. But let me tell you, arguing is used every day, it's a part of the everyday life.
Argue [verb] - to present reasons for or against a thing.
If you take that out of life then you will never learn 'why' the other person does what he does. Without arguments we wouldn't have the knowledge that we have in the present, almost all theories about the world and universe where once argued between philosophers, scientists, physicians, etc. You even "argue" by yourself in your mind when you have a decision to make. Discussions are a part of our way to communicate, even a part of our free will.
Returning to the topic, thanks to Drazi500 I learned what a Z-Sprite is, I had no idea what it was before and I probably wouldn't never learn it by practice or experience. Moreover, I'm sure that everyone that read this also learned something. So arguing isn't pointless.
Of course, as we both said, the important thing isn't WHO is right, and that's exactly what I'm trying to get to ^_^
I do and I believe you both have a vaild point here.
Drazi might have used the wrong word when he said rendered, but i'm positive he meant the depth of your shading not the actual graphic.
Aruging is a bad way to learn, people around 11-15 always think this.
The best way to learn is through practise and perserverence picking up critisim along the way.
Aruging is pointless....and I'm now refusing to argue any further
Again, YOU'RE BOTH RIGHT, so it doesn't matter WHO is right.
@ Kamikazi productions: Please go to wikipedia and search for rendering (computer graphics) before posting. Moreover, I believe that arguing is one of the best ways to learn, I don't do it because "I don't accept what you say as criticism" because I do, but if I've been taught something and someone says differently, it's normal to argue to find out more. If you never ask, or argue, you never learn.
I understood your post as a way to "prevent a fight" and I appreciate that, but I don't think that's the case here, at least not for me. I don't really mind WHO is right, but rather WHAT is right, if you understand what i mean.
Rendering reffers to shading.
Depth of shading.
which I believe is what Drazi was getting at.
Instead of arguing, why don't you accept what we've told you as critisim and move on with your comic...ìì
To Drazi500: ok, according to wikipedia's definition they could be called Z-sprites, but they are not rendered (wikipedia doesn't mention z-sprites being rendered, only to look as if the sprites have depth, or 3D). I draw them on a graphic tablet in photoshop, the borders with a 1px brush size/1px pencil size and color it in different layers. Rendering is the process of generating an image from a model.
Look I KNOW what a sprite is
and I agree these are sprites but do not deny that they're not rendered or 3D because they are.
They are Z-sprites which btw you can see the definition on the artical you just tried to link me to.
Sprite Definiton on Wikipedia
To Drazi500: They aren't 3D nor rendered, and of course they look drawn because they ARE drawn (photoshop is what i use), but that doesn't mean that they aren't sprites, a sprite can be drawn, see sprite's definition and/or read the forum post

You do have a sprite comic, BUT...
your style is Z-sprites.
so people will look at it and see drawn, not sprite, so although you have a sprite comic, people don't view it as that.
To Secre and ZeroSennin and everyone else:
According to Wikipedia:
"A sprite is a two-dimensional/three-dimensional image or animation that is integrated into a larger scene."
Which is exactly the same as copy paste :/ and if you ask, i DO have a sprite sheet for each caracter, (I always add more when i need though)
I'd suggest just doing it how you want to do it. After all, you know what you're doing, right? I'm sure cameo's wouldn't be too much of a problem.
Though, the people I've talked to say it's more of a cut and paste comic than a sprite comic. Not sure what the difference is...
You TOTALLY had me fooled with the whole sprite thing, too. I've read through this quickly, and I like it! A lot! Consider yourself faved. I'll be watching this one!
To Secre:
Well, then I would have to remove the poster, which is the only copyrighted character used so far... But I'm planning on using other characters as well, I could manage without them (they aren't part of the storyline), but it's something i really want to add to the comic >_
The biggest problem with getting sprite comics featured is that the administrators of Drunk Duck won't feature comics if they contain copyrighted characters, even if there IS a disclaimer.
And, as for being new to the sprite comic thing, you're really good with it. I thought it was drawn at first xD...
Good luck.
To Secre: I suppose this comic is closer to a sprite comic than anything else, so yes. And yes I made the sprites myself (some using reference some without) though I might use stuff from other places, like the wanted poster from one piece.
And well, I'm kinda new to the site, and the whole making sprite comics thing, but getting it featured would really be awesome
This is an interesting comic.
I got a few questions. You said this is a sprite comic? And that you create your sprites yourself?
If most of them are completely original characters, then we may have a contender for getting a sprite comic featured. I just gotta do a little advertising...

Z-Sprites are 3D render characters. Sprites that look like they're drawn, you can find a better explaination on wikipedia.
