Emergency 2

I wasn't sure what to draw for this. I already recently drew Ruth on the fridge. And drawing Connie's pets closed up seemed kind of boring. I decided the best thing would be to set the scene with nightfall and the hungry, restless animals in Connie's sanctuary.
I recently visited a small local zoo, and I was inspired to this page by an impressive Eurasian lynx (HUUUGE animal, I had no idea). She was so happy lounging on her perch in the sun, like an enormous contented housecat. Then keepers started making rounds with food buckets. The cat was up and pacing. Repetitive pacing. It looked like something one of those fanatical animal rights eco-terrorists would film as “evidence” that the poor thing was stressed and abused. But she was just a kitty being catty about mealtime. This would be the equivalent of a housecat licking a sleeping owner's eyelids at 5 AM.

You always manage to put the little details in.

Aw. Thanks. :) It makes the art fun for me. When I was bored in high school, I used to draw little scenes and fill them with objects to suggest a story or personality. (Weird hobby, I know, but it passed the time in an age before cellphones.)

Thank you. I grew up in WV, where it's set. It's a beautiful state -- with a terrible economy.

Lol. Besides, Ruth had a rough day. She could use the snack.
