Honestly, I am generally very cautious with wildlife – mostly because I'm scared to cause injury or stress. I don't handle wild things unless they need moved out of harm's way. That said, with the right PPE, I have no qualms working around bitey or venomous things.

And I also take my dog with me when encountering the unknown. He's not big, but he's got a good bark on him and in the dark, he kinda looks pitbullish. That's really only when worried about human threats. He's basically useless (and could actually escalate problems) around non-human animals.
