I enjoy Becky as a character. When she was first conceptualized when I was a teen, she was a very shallow character (they all were; I was not so good at developing characters then). I had trouble liking her or even writing her role. As I started really getting into her head in the last couple years, she has become quite complex and layered. She has become a composite of a number women I know who are unlike me but whom I respect and admire.

Yeah, if an animal is just in constant suffering with no chance at getting better, it would be better to put it out.

Sometimes the compassionate thing to do is to just end the suffering. But there are people better qualified to make that call than me.

Yeah. I don't like being saddled with that judgement call. Animals are extremely stoic and can be hard to "read."

Things are different in the wild.

That's true. And wildlife can find any handling traumatic even when healthy.
