#7 - Spy Gal "Look But Don't Touch" by Bradley Overall
Brock on May 13, 2008
Today's excellent entry in the fan art sweepstakes (okay, there are no sweepstakes–but there should be!) comes from Bradley Overall of the most excellent webcomic, Surfboards and Rayguns. Ever wanted to see well-rendered water and hot chicks? Then Brad's your man.
I really love this piece. Spy Gal's hair is pretty tricky. It's perhaps my least favorite thing to draw, and yet I have to draw it a lot. And then here comes Brad and not only does he nail it in one shot, he does it better than me. Plus: leather effects. Awesome work, Brad.
Brad's a fellow Drunk Ducker, so be sure and hit the link above and check out his comic!

Don't forget that if you'd like to contribute to the fan art you can PQ me with a link or send it to heasley@th3rdworld.com! (Just be sure and PQ me to let me know it's there as I don't really check that email all that often.)
Contributing Drunk Duckers get their piece put at the top of the queue, in the order I receive them!
Some big names have already promised fan art for this page, so this is a great time to add this to your favorites.

As a long-time Diana Rigg fan, I can only agree with the sentiment :)

Man, I thought I was the only one who redrew minor things over and over and over again. Comforting, I guess.

It's hard, believe me! But, see, I have this certain standard of how it should look and how it should frame her face. I always draw it wrong the first 5-7 times. No joke. I draw and redraw Spy Gal's hair about 8-9 times every time I do it. I can't really explain what it is I'm looking for with it, but I know it when I see it. Brad is the first person to submit a fan art that I felt not only nailed it, but did it one better. Thanks for your comments on these, Dawn! Waaaaaaay more people are seeing this fan art than are commenting on it, and I love to see these fantastic contributing artists get their due.
