I was originally going to show Jackie just power through Hydro and Cursive's combined attack but since Jackie has a strong association with my wife I decided against it. I could still show it if anyone wants me to: Jackie's powers are proportional to her weight so basically she becomes incredibly tanky the heavier she is (pushing through Hydro's water attacks), and since her powers aren't energy based it means Cursive can't touch her.

Of note: Skull Girl's white face paint is water-proof, her mascara not so much.

It might not be my place to say and I am very sorry if I offend you. But if you are still having trouble coping with the loss of your wife then it might be good to talk to someone who understands what your going through. I would recommend talking to Ed Gedeon creator of the web-comic everyday hero's who lost his wife a couple of years ago to cancer. And or rmccool creator of public humiliation who if I remember correctly made the comic in remembrance of his son. but my main point is you don't have to go through this alone and there are other's out there coping who might be able to help you out. Again if this offends you I am sorry

Yeah. I might eventually start up a new comic but it's going to have to be totally different. I'd love to use Skully for a different project. Only time will tell if I'll ever revisit her world.

Cursive is actually one of my old characters I've had kicking around since the late 90's, although she's gone through multiple incarnations. She's actually still in play as a supporting cast member in my quest series.

Personally, I feel like anything that forces you to "poke the wounds" of the loss of your wife is more than necessary is something we probably shouldn't ask of you. Particularly since you're finishing this caper despite the loss and the connection.
