Edit: Crys switching from depressed and crying to ‘work mode’ is just something hairdressers has to do. I just find it funny as it wasn't even planned but its very real XD
I don't have much experience in how child services work as a parent (i'm very child-free haha), but knowing having a small period with them as a child I know there's always, like in every proffesion, people who just seem to want to pick on little things that doesn't really make much sense. I know they're worried but there's something different on putting a light on a parent like that because every parent, household, etc has bad days. Its the whole ‘seeing the difference on a dysfunctional family vs a family that works but isn’t really always perfect'. (at least when it comes to this story, and honestly the father dressing up in women clothing shouldnt be an issue). I think its important to know though when to take a child away from a parent and when not to. The issue is when the other parent is working against you. It gets tricky when the authorities get filled up with lies based on bitterness. There's also those times when they don't do their job properly, so of course there's a middle ground out there somwhere. I know men often gets the bad side of the dilemma as they're absolutely powerless in most parent-cases if the mother is against him. It was supposedly something i'd highlight later in the comic but since i've re-written my whole storyline and changed plotlines, i decided to do it here instead with Crystal (which didn't excist in the old storyline, she's my newest character). Being in the middle of such a ‘parental war’ with authorities involved is really not something i'd want for my worst enemy though (if i find one).
fallopiancrusader: Mmm yeah, both emotional and financially this sucks.
I'm glad it worked out for you though! I only have the child-perspective of this, which sucks as well. Parents fighting and then getting child services on each other is the most petty thing ever. Its damaging for both the parts involved AND especially the child. :/
The other thing that Crystal has to look forward to is hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal bills that will probably leave her financially ruined for life. In my case, future child custody issues were planned out amicably before my child was even born, and it has worked out well, so I guess I was lucky.
