Though actually the first page of the next scene, this page somehow seemed more appropriate for Memorial Day.
Remember the fallen.
The politics will continue on Wednesday. The original scene's next two pages need a substantial rewrite as it's little more than a long winded listing of the rulers and provinces of Narthatheia stuffed into one discussion. An information dump that would be soon forgotten and only serves to slow the story to a crawl. So while I am sorting through that here's the first few panels of the next scene which is taking place simultaneously.
Shout out kimluster. The golden haired woman in the left foreground of the second panel is the major in the Air Force who wanted to blow up Kimber Lee and company. I had forgotten that I snuck her into the cast of this. :D
lol watch out for those Ghouls, girl - at least getting blown up is instant!! Agree this page is epic! So much activity!! Did you set it all up one scene, or just a few figures together and then mesh them together with PS?!
A few figures at a time in various "component" poses like covered corpses, carrying bodies, tired soldiers, feeding animals and then all put together. There is a crow, a couple of vultures, a rat and a dog in the panel.
Usually a battle aftermath is one pan if the dead and that's it. I wanted to show the grisly work that has to follow. It's in most good accounts of battle but never depicted otherwise. All these great epic fights in fantasy and the dead just are mourned but you never see the masses disposed of. What did they do with all those dead orcs after Helms Deep? Do elves have bulldozers to make mass ofc graves?

Was it Bismarck who said, war is politics, by other means? Ah, whatever. Great page!

Von Clausewitz, one of Bismarck's and Moltke's mentors.

There's an epic scope to this page - love the sunlight, love the panel layouts. Aha! I suspected that Godstrain cameo was a bravo character!

Never forget - and we civilians have been separated from the military experience quite a bit for the past few years. Good Memorial Day to you, bravo.

We shall never forget those who gave so much.
