Book One, page 93

There are only two pages left in Book One. Book One ends with Aleeka and Searsha trying to resolve their conflict. As Larya said the previous page “things are just starting” The story went from big battle, survival, politics to the conflict between two people.

Did it lose its focus? Probably but I wanted to go into the characters as opposed to some grand fantasy story. First comes the people and then comes the epic. Besides, it's only been three days.

Lots of new people around the site, which is great. And surprisingly this comic is getting lots a page views. Now could everyone passing by just click The “like ” tab? Bowling for Pixels The sprite game show still has more likes.

I know the passer by will just go “dolls” and pass by ,but at least you could articulate why that somehow isn't up to your standards when the art here ain't half bad. It's a lot more than you think. The figures look so damned real. Body language, sense of motion and facial expressions are all there. These ain't your garden variety figures. And they actually inhabit their space as opposed to hovering somewhere within it like so many 3D comics. There are carefully placed shadows as well as grass and dirt drawn around their feet to put them in the scene as opposed to just pasted.

And when was the last time character design actually included everything the character needs as opposed to just a cool outfit? Look at Searsha's gear. Bread bag, canteen, wands, binoculars (The world has lens technology) and ammunition. She's geared up. And a bit better armored than before. Her armor is enchanted to shift to receive incoming strikes so it provides a lot more protection than it appears to.

Or maybe I just bitch too much. No matter how hard you think you could possibly be, I am my own harshest critic. Searsha is pretty hard on herself too.

This is based in part on a real conversation. I was writing it and suddenly heard the original conversation echoing in my heard. Hadn't thought about it in years. And no, in this case I wasn't the one saying “you'd be better off–”
