And we've reached the end of November! 2017 is almost gone.
And another map excerpt to move the story to another kingdom; Farmorlan. I mentioned King Bridnea a few pages ago and here he is in the flesh. Originally it was to be a Civil War General Sherman figure but I chanced onto the Pirates of the Caribbean:End of the World figures and I really liked the Orlando Bloom figure and figured he'd make a heck of a villain. And there's Rutger Hauer as Count Kulland as well as a Chow-Young Fat figure as Lord Zhau; a Gomlar envoy. Seems they're not completely unknown in Narthatheia with Bridnea entertaining a delegation? Could it be because he despises Falkimir?
Horses, the first we've seen since early on. There are several types here. Zhau as a Gomlar rides a steppe pony which is why he almost appears to be on foot. Bridea, Kulland and the unnamed noble are riding typical large horses and Bridnea's wife is riding a smallish “gentle” horse. In fact, she is riding side-saddle. It was an experiment as Princess Illya will be riding later on and I knew a princess couldn't ride asride! But it may be unneeded as I have since gotten a couple of carriages so there may be no need for Illya to be on horseback at all.
After Bridnea's bit, I'll be able to post the “rulers of Narthatheia” pages so you can keep track of them. I couldn't. In fact during the rewrite I discovered that I had Falkimir's army marching in the completely wrong direction as I had put another character in Farmorlan instead of Bridnea who was suddenly in Bsslor and yes, it all confuses me too.
And thank your lucky stars the continent is nothing more than mentioned. There are stacks of countries in there with maps and notes. The unfinished novels of this world required a lot of detail and it was all put together. But only as much as was necessary. There are names and capitols and governments and the webs of relationships but not more. I know some authors would have the color of bed curtains of the lady-in-waiting to Princess Toren of Pentaca all arranged along with all the names of her little yappy dogs. But she's not appearing in this story so I didn't go that far.
I think I'd really enjoy falconry! I've had the privilege of seeing the trained eagle from Auburn University in action - it's breathtaking watching a bird of prey do its thing!!
I generally suck at recognizing celebrity faces, but for some reason I recognized Orlando Bloom right away. And I haven't even watched the Pirates of the Caribbean movies! He does have a suave, devious look about him.

Hawks have made a big return to NJ so I see them coasting regularly. And there will be a few in the comic.

I have a whole menagerie of animals and hawking was a popular sport across cultures once upon a time.

The maps do make great transitions.
