Star Strip Issue 1 Page 2

Had a lot of fun putting this page together and it was a lot simpler than I thought it would be. A note, though depicted here on the bridge Mr. Scott is only visiting the Surprise. Ms. Angey is the Chief Engineer of Surprise.
The awkward phrase matter transferrence used by the Aordian First Officer may indicate that transporter technology is not used by the Aordians. How could that be since they are so far advanced? Maybe they listened to a certain ship's docotr about “scattering ones molecules across the galaxy”
The original concept of the Aordian dreadnaught was for a ship that could single handedly take on and easily destroy any threat from any species. They are the reason for the Cease-fire with the Diamorians and why a certain machine race will nto be appearing in any Star Trek inspired work I do. It looks somewhat Kilngony becuase the original model was a Klingon battle cruiser heavily modified. It looks all clunk compared to other Aordain ships because it is all business being pure naked armor and weaponry.
Thank you for all the congratulatory nonsense regarding my nominations. Amazing how small the field was for Best Completed and Best Horror and let me be the first to congratulate Fallopian Cursader on his win for best completed comic and TheGhost for Best Horror. The judges will take one look at their art and say AUTOMATIC WIN for the traditionally drawn strip. The art is so superb nothing would have a chance. Nothing else would matter unless the judges are very discerning and have some sort of depth to their perception to see past pictures to what is behind the pretty pictures. And even then I won't win. Interstellar Blood Beasts is a simple old-fashioned monster on the ship horror story going back to the stuff that inspired Alien as opposed to just aping that successful franchise.
It's probably better than most Syfy original movies that but that ain't saying much. And you know I have got to find another script for Norwood.

Dreadnougts being the biggest baddest meanest things ever built it would be all business. Love your comics.

Hey Spock, you're not allowed to joke!

loving the filters and style in this. It's very much classic Star Trek with a fabulous new twist!

Well, belated congrats on your nominations! The banter between the characters is right on the money here! Are we about to transport a soon-to-be-seduced-by-Kirk lady, here? XD

@fallopiancrusader: I did! It was also before poseable figures being done with Barbie and friends and was very surreal.

Speaking of choice of medium, did you ever read Heavy Metal magazine in the 1970's and early 1980's? (you know, back when it was actually good?) There was an ongoing doll comic in there that was really good. And that was before Photoshop existed, so all the special effects were done in-camera.

Well it looks great! I'm already loving the snappy, tongue-in-cheek dialogue. I haven't seen many Trek episodes but even I'm 'getting it' haha... I guess 'Trek speak', lore, and the character tropes have really worked their way into the general culture!.
