The USS Surprise has a full compliment of 230. Currently it is running with a crew of 30. This is due to personnel shortages. So the crew is mostly the senior staff and department heads with a handful of trainees. In time of crisis the crew would be fleshed out with draftees.
Since it's such a small crew of staff heads. all had a full mission briefing being told on the “need to know” basis. Only Rickover, Dr. Rush and Spock know about Jen and Vera's undercover mission. Everyone knows Aura was a robofemoid but no one knows the capabilites of one except Dr. Rush and Spock. And then there are a few bits of intelligence even further compartmentalized.
The script had the basic sequence here but the remarks were filled in after I took the pictures. Things often flesh themselves out like that as the figures stand there and I imagine what they must be thinking. One always makes snide remarks and that's just the why military folks are. There's always someone bitching and moaning. With so few enlisted presonnel one can only imagine the duty lists. Fortunately the midshipmen do the cleaning leaving the enlisted to do all the maintenance. Which is why they're all in red as support personnel.
In case anyone cares I ddid do up some partial rosters so I would know what these people did on the ship. Lt. Eomer is head of security and Lt. Donagh is assistant navigator. Midshipman Hakufu is a student nurse and so on.

EVEN Scotty was killed in the original series episode "The Changeling". Nomad was kind enough to restore him at Kirk's request. Guess you have a chance if you reach Lieutenant Commander or above.

@fallopiancrusader: And the Falasnorian didn't register at all. ;-)

Nice work on the reflections in panel 4. Interesting that furries only give off minimal life signs. Does that mean they can only be considered partially alive? Perhaps they are cyborgs of some sort? I was kinda hoping Eomer would come riding in on a horse...

Very nice - you've got so many extras on this page, but it doesn't look crowded. The little spoofy humor is hilarious. In the 2nd panel, you should have had them yell the word 'surprise' as they entered!

In 79 episodes there were 56 deaths of which less about 20 were wearing red shirts. Eight are gold shirts and seven sciences (blue) with the rest unknown. Twice as many red shirts die to anyone else. So your chances of death only go up by 50% ;-) Eomer can't die as he has that gorgeous blonde hair that makes him invincible.

I like the guy with the long hair and beard. Shame he is fodder as a red shirt.
