Star Strip page 70

Taking care of the prisoners. Lon had mentioned Jill would get jealous and possessive a few pages back. In the last panel of page 69 she told Frank not to get any ideas about emulating what Lon was doing. Lon probably has a few failed relationships in his past. Maybe like Harry Mudd and his wife.
This page briefly considers some philosophical questions about clothing and why it's worn in addition to just warmth and pockets. It also offers another reason why Grey Guys are so keen to strip them off. Grey Guys are a hated minority with no status so stripping their victims means they are stripping the status and identity off their victims. To make their victims somehow feel what it is to be a Grey Guy with very little identity (for the most part Grey Guys are identical and designed to be interchangeable) and status (Grey Guys are lowest of the low as shown a few dozen pages ago)
You mean this sotry actually has some sort of sensible backstoryand isn't all boobs all the time? Let's just say I have pretentions of such things. And the all boobs all the time means something too and isn't just about how much the author likes human mammalia.

Actually osmotic action gives a whole new meaning to your remark. Definition from Merriam-Webster: a process of absorption or diffusion suggestive of the flow of osmotic action; especially : a usually effortless often unconscious assimilation. Fascinating.

hmmm...my phone corrected something I wrote to "osmotic action". I have no idea what that means. I think I meant to type "motivation"?

@Cid and Jerrie: but would you feel liberated if nudity was forced on you, in public with lots of eyes on you...?

Interesting thoughts there. I tend to view nudity as more of a liberation than a degradation, but I can see the Grey Guys' viewpoint as well.

Makes sense! There had to be SOME osmotic action for all this, beyond the desire to see some naked ladies. Hmmm...actually, maybe no additional motive was needed. But good on ya for going deeper in the societal/psychological on this!!

I wonder if it's part of the master chief's culture for men to wear lacy lingerie. I hope so! Interesting point about the clothes. When I go to the beach, I only go to nudist beaches because the people there are noticeably mellower and more polite.

But...but... Boobies...! Seriously, this actually makes sense in a way... Clothes do effect the psyche of people - I've read studies that stripped people are much more reserved and non-violent (maybe that's the real reason Jainism is so 'peaceful' ;))
