Star Strip page 78

The buffer is down to four pages. Sulu's nose begins to bleed again once the Exo-belt is off. And there's another one of those bridge overhead shots which take twenty or so many layers to composite in Photoshop. I guess I just love blocking (stage talk for moving around a stage) It's almost like I'm running around, clapping and yelling “PLACES EVERYONE, Come on People…”
Guess this is as close to that as I'll ever get.
The signal to arrest Lon is for him to sit in the commander's chair. So there's a bit of impatience here.
@Banes: Lon looked extra creepy last page because I changed his expression for that panel in Photoshop. As if to suggest “Jenny you look like you're ready to kill someone… and that someone is ME!”
There are subtle and not so subtle changes made to most of the faces in nearly every panel. Look at the last panel here, the eyes were moved around so the characters are looking at each other, Red got that sly smile and Grace narrowed eyes to indicate slight annoyance. Eyebrows, eye size and what characters are looking at is adjusted figure by figure. It's something we take for granted that I have to remain aware of in every panel. A lot of 3D comics feature two expressions: screaming and not screaming. I try to do a bit more.

There's always a hitch. Lon's seething hemorrhoids prevent him from sitting down. Ever. On to Plan B.

@ Bravo1102 Most of the submarines I was on had cup holders in Radio (where I worked) right next to the keyboard. The surface ships did not for some reason....

@plymayer: US tanks don't have cup holders, British tanks do. Does the US Navy equip it's crew stations with cup holders? I know senior officers can station an EM at his elbow with the cup. I always thought on ST:TOS there were folding cup holders like Sulu's tactical display.

Hey Plymayer...good point there....no cup holders? at the very least the captains should of had one for the captain(screw the rest of them...but Kirk should have a blasted place for his coffee!)
plymayer at 8:12AM, March 11, 2015
How come they never have coffee cup holders on Star Trek? Captain Sulu had a nice china cup in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Kirk and others had coffee on the bridge in TOS. But you never see any coffee cup holders on the tables or equipment. Shouldn't there at least be one on every station and one on the captain's chair?

Ohhh, I see! Yes, the subtle alteration of his face is probably what upped the creep factor!

Amazing work on that overhead shot!

This reminds me of that urban legend about Phil Collins and "In the Air Tonight" where a murderer in the audience was to be arrested when the drums kicked in. I know, waiting for the drums before arresting the guy makes no sense. Not sure why I believed that story when i was in high school...

"...to boldly go where...LOTS of men have gone before! More boobies!" :D It is really incredible how you get all these layers to make a great coherent scene! That top-down view of the bridge... Wow!
