Thank you KimLuster for nailing it. The tone does vary as does the pacing. It's supposed to be zany meets serious. I was trying to make the characters different in tone and the universe consistent. And the universe is a weird nonsensical place. I think it could be that I went in too many directions at once.
I have given thought to going with a quick action ending just winding everything up with a big fight.

I love the group shot

I agree about not rushing the ending. However it would have that 1960's television feel going out with a big no reason fight.

Love love LOVE that wide group shot! Gotta agree that a big fight is a way you could go, but it's not the ending I'm craving as a reader. Unfortunately, as is so often the case with we readers, I don't know WHAT I'm craving...more laffs, more Star Trek references and satire, I s'pose...and SOME kinda resolution. Can't imagine what! Ending a wild n' wooly ride like this story sounds like a tough one actually...so many ways it could go!

A big fight would be kewl, though if that's the culmination of all that's happened, it would feel like a bit of a letdown. But it's not easy to stick with a comic if you know you've got something better cooking in the oven!

Oh hi, Jack...wait, you mean hi-jack?!?!?!!!! Great shot of all the characters in such a large space!

So I want to tell you NOT to end it that way, cuz then I'd be left wondering... But I also don't want you to continue just because of an obligatory feeling to complete it for everyone when your heart's not really in it anymore. I've been in those situations and it's drudgery!! So... don't just let it fizzle - if you are gonna end it go out with a bang!! And if you decide to keep on - all the better! :D
