Reckoning

Hi, I'm the artist of Duck and Chicken. I've been on hiatus for a few months because I stupidly ignored the burning, aching, stiffness of my wrist/elbow and the shooting pain that went from one extreme to the other.

Turns out I have tendinitis. -.-

I shouldn't and cannot be using my right hand much. I can't go on for too long without doing something crafty. So, I picked up the pencil (er, crayon in this case) with my left hand and started to draw.

I was born left handed but my beloved Gammy, the superstitious, lady didn't let me proceed with the natural way of things and so I was raised Right handed. Something about being closer to god and away from the Devil, something or other.

Anyway, I haven't used my left hand in years. I did for a while and I was pretty decent. I liked to switch hands around in school to help me learn/remember things. I read something about how righties use their left side of the brain and vice versa so I wanted to even out the playing field and be a more rounded out pupil. Now that I'm out of school, I don't write much, let alone with my left hand.

But I figured, its worth a shot if it keeps me occupied and helps my right hand heal faster. Speaking of which, I probably shouldn't be typing so much and go pop some pain meds.. the burning is killing me here. And that says a lot, considering I HATE taking pain meds and I often avoid so unless its absolutely painful.

(Anyone walk with home with a fractured ankle before and thought that was nothing? anyone? Am I the only one? Damnit.)
