The Cherub Brothers Chapter 11.47

These three pages are a little bit sensitive with the subject matter and with the four kids fearing death.

pepper and corey were together in HS, and implied through the beginning of the comic that they had a nasty split up. it seems she's remorseful despite being a bit brash. never really explored the reasoning behind it. brady always had feelings for corey, but believes he's straight and wouldn't want to be with someone in the middle of transitioning. very envious of pepper and someone was curt to her. Never got into corey's sexual orientation because it didn't seem needed. i always felt the default for all people is look and personality preferences and procreation options before everyone gets weird about what's between your legs as induced neurosis from those in power fucked everyone up…

before corey's overdose, he got pepper pregnant and it let to some nasty situations leading up to said overdose. if you remember the early chapters, she was talking to a wealthy guy in new york she was planning to meet up. though that doesn't seem to be a concern for her anymore as death seems inevitable. her parents were always obsessed with how their only daughter looked. it's a bit based on how i grew up where every little movement or anything triggered parents to freak out about how much worth was in your weight to the point where you feel like a doll and want nothign more to be a genderless, formless entity. implying that you're only worth as a daugther is to be a prize cow to give off to a better family. grades and anything unrelated to man made beauty being bunkous if you don't fit into the mold. it's a strange way of thinking…

with pepper, she knew keeping the baby would be disasterous. corey wouldnt be a good father, and she was barley 17. though the parents more concerned for others and how the pregnancy will affect her appearence. getting with the rich guy was her way of trying to fully be detatched to her parents and become somethign they desired so much so she could throw it in their faces.

trevor just wants to be something useful in the shadow of his missing father, randy wants to break free from the poverty cycle, and brady wants to be happy and avoid becoming a statistic for someone to use.

i know i don't often write in this section too much, nor am i sure if anyone reads this. alot of this comic is pulled from my life, former friends, ex, and trauma/abuse from my life and this has become a sort of memoir/making peace type of thing…

does it all seem hopeless? maybe…it's not the end yet. we're still a bit away from endgame.
