Corey never really talked about what happened to him in depth with nani. And I hope I did my best to betray the strain these two have had in nearly a whole week. Brady is the only one who had observed all of the events that it happened to him last year. The timeline for this is that Corey was involved with drugs ever since middle school particularly around the time his mom up and disappeared that's what he started really getting heavy in his drug use. In one of the earlier chapters you can see him in a special class with kids with similar circumstances. That is also where he met Bree and she kinda had an idea of what he really was. Nani got the same treatment as two of her eyes are now destroyed and she's incredibly bitter about it as her whole entire life has been ready for people trying to abuse her body just because she was born a hybrid. Have a strange way to get some better clarity on each other on the possibility of death is looming.
Ever since the bug king had gotten into contact with all the kids at the end of the last chapter the kids are in kind of in a loop where escape seems impossible, in earlier chapters when the bug came with nearby it seemed each individual would enter in a disassociative state and totally relive their trauma and any lingering regret or any negative feeling that the bug king can grab on to totally consume them.
it's really surreal finally getting to this end with corey. he's become an amalgamation of people that i knew that i have lost contact with such weird abuse from staff and from students families, and myself. randy and trevor brought up why corey his overdose before he got his shit together. when Brady took care of Corey after his release from the hospital, it fueled some resentment. he was so very bitter corey never reciprocated his feelings, which i don't particularly blame him , he's had feeling for Corey for a very long time as we will see. it was all based on an incident in a friend group of mine we had someone released from the psych ward and once he got better it was like he was trying to have a gone girl moment and escape everything. not really far off from what i've done so i can't talk shit…I've talked to much but wanted some more insight on the recent pages…
