Chapter One: Page 16

So, Kalon was the Inquisitor that took Jacob's mother to the Convent of Solista! I wonder who gave the order in that regard? You remember Jacob's back story right?
More plot hits home as Jacob finally asks Kalon for help, will Kalon help him or not?

Wonderful detail - love how you show life going on around them - people walking by outside, the cat going on with his life, Muntron's mysterious pipe-smoking character eavesdropping ....

this guy might be the only way to save the ladies.
Muntron at 2:56AM, April 4, 2008
It's a good thing they haven't invented cancer yet. I'll smoke it up, SMOKE!

amanda: yep, he's pretty desperate, Reva's expression for Scar on panel #6 is my favourite. Steely: TANSTAAFL (There aint no such thing as a free lunch) is how Kalon always operates.
Steely Gaze at 12:57PM, March 31, 2008
Ooh, what will Kalon say? I bet he asks for something in return.... I think the narration actually works okay here. So long as we know which character is the main one right now (Scar), and if the bubbles are placed in a good location (they are), I have no problem figuring them out. And they do add a lot to the story.
amanda at 12:14PM, March 31, 2008
Kitty! Heh, and that WAS pretty callous. Panels 4 and 6 are really good for Scar - I think you can tell how desperate he is...
Doctor Shadow at 9:58AM, March 31, 2008
I think that's the hardest part, though, at the moment if you look at Talon's thoughts they're in a different font to the narration (Ale and Wenches as opposed to Jacob's Arcanum) -- I'm still working the kinks out of this particular idea. Suggestions are always welcome, however.
trevoramueller at 9:56AM, March 31, 2008
I kind of like the narration giving the reader a little extra insight to the character's thoughts, I just sometimes have to go back and remind myself whose thoughts they are, since they don't point to any particular character.
Doctor Shadow at 9:44AM, March 31, 2008
I'm not sure Midge, I actually hummed-harred on this page and wondered: Do I need the thought-boxes for this particular issue. Yet some people like to be able to read the character's thoughts as well. The only character you're going to never see with thoughts like this, is Kalon Rhadon. He never reveals what he's thinking half the time, even to me.
TheMidge28 at 9:37AM, March 31, 2008
the mix of the thought boxes and the dialogue balloons is a bit confusing, IMO. I wonder if there is a different way of doing it.

DAJB: It took us a while to get there, but I often prefer a longer road travelled with more detail in that respect. ttyler: Thanks man, means a lot! Also, the Tabby is a homage to our very own Tabby, Mal :)
ttyler at 6:47AM, March 31, 2008
I would have loved to seen this comic, as a live action film, directed by sergio leone!! It just has that kind of cool feel!!! Why a tabby?? why not show some love for siamese man!! lol
DAJB at 6:39AM, March 31, 2008
Ooh, the plot threads begin to intertwine ... delicious! Oh, and the cat's pretty cool, too!
