Chapter Two: Page 19

The Aurus Lux, the Golden Light, is one of the many battleships that the Church of Progression uses to keep the populace in line. The cog and eye symbol represents the watchful presence of the One God of the Infinite Machine and is more a symbol of oppression than anything.
This is the ship that will carry Isadora and her daughters to the Convent of Solista.

Lets hope nobody upsets the Church or they could do some serious damage with that thing :D

JnP: Aetheric engines, with a unique fuel source.
JustNoPoint at 5:19PM, Aug. 8, 2008
I wonder how gas is for that thing.

albone: cheers. I have a slight obsession with air/wind/skyships as you might have guessed. It goes with my love of steampunk. I'm currently thinking of trying a different font for the narration, any suggestions from people would be more than welcome. Thanks!
albone at 9:27AM, Aug. 8, 2008
Ooooh, lookit that ship! Making me homesick for Final Fantasy, but in a very subliminal way. Aurus Lux is a wicked name. And mentioned before, the font is slightlydifficult to read, but I definitely got it.

tim: You won't be disappointed at all I don't think! alejkhan: There's lots of awesome on the way (we think) since you're going to see...well...we'll leave that as a surprise so that we don't spoil a thing!
alejkhan at 7:20PM, Aug. 7, 2008
That's a great aerial shot of the city! Definitely feeling impending awesome about to happen!

Doctor Shadow at 4:27PM, Aug. 7, 2008
Loud_G: Glad you like it :) trevora: It was a team effort between me and Reva. amanda: You haven't seen the Convent of Solista yet *grin* katyas: They are the ultimate absolute power in Hestonia, with very little to challenge them. Azarr: Thanks! Adam: Heh! DAJB: Oh there's going to be something in that regard soon :)
DAJB at 1:05PM, Aug. 7, 2008
Oooh, do I sense the possiblity of mighty airships exchanging broadsides at dawn? Excitement mounting ...!
Adam Black at 10:18AM, Aug. 7, 2008
HOLY CRAP!
katyas at 7:57AM, Aug. 7, 2008
Sounds like every church ever ... it all boils down to control through fear. Not good (IMHO) to be controlled by "faith" - you should think for yourself. But ... I guess the vast majority of people prefer not to have to bother thinking for themselves. That's how these sorts of things get out of hand ...
amanda at 7:45AM, Aug. 7, 2008
Evil airship! Evil! Plus, if I were a convent, I'd be pretty freaked out by any newcomers arriving in THAT thing...yikes. Otherwise, it's pretty awesome. Quite pointy. They could poke stuff with it, I guess. I really like that rock formation in the last panel.
trevoramueller at 7:27AM, Aug. 7, 2008
Fantastic airship design!
Loud_G at 7:12AM, Aug. 7, 2008
Ooo hoo hooo! This looks to be good! Great intro page for the approaching ship :D
Doctor Shadow at 4:11AM, Aug. 7, 2008
steak: ah, you crazy man you! Steely: It's what you make of it, obviously...I have my own ideas of what that wound is. You could say it's the corruption at the core of the CoP, or the Orwellian regime that slowly eats at the free places of the world, consuming it until there's nothing left but a growth of darkness. It could be as simple as the people losing faith, no matter what the CoP does to rectify this... V said it best in the movie: A people should not be afraid of its government, a government should be afraid of its people. Except in this case, the CoP has far more power than the organisation present in V and the technology to grind anything under its heel. Hopefully that explains it a little more.

You mean, will carry them if Kalon and the others don't save them, right? I don't want to think their whole mission is hopeless! This is a good page, although I must admit some of the text through me a tad. Some of it gave me trouble, such as the "empty salve for a cancerous wound" line. What cancerous wound exactly? Corruption? Lack of comfort? What? I'm sorry, I just couldn't wrap my head around that line. Otherwise I felt this was a good way to finally show us the Church windship. :)
killersteak at 1:55AM, Aug. 7, 2008
Ooh, they sound evil. I can imagine it now: "Boo! Ha, now cook my dinner, bitch." Brrrrr.. evil.
