Chapter Two: Page 23

So, we've got a giant falcon/golden eagle inspired vessel, that's about the size of a luxury jumbo jet. A massive battleship that's probably equivalent to the US Navy's largest aircraft carrier and a much smaller sleek sky-sea going vessel that's inspired in part by the Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues.
What's next?
How about a steampunk Osprey I hear you shout?
So, there you go, one steampunk Osprey!

I read Wolfs script and sort of had this OOH what about showing how BIG and menacing the Church vessel is. I admit I was thinking like the space ships in Independance day or the Star destroyers in Star Wars, you know where you just see the underside of em because they are HUGE! This section of the story is very challenging for me on an artistic level as drawing tech is not something that comes naturally to me, so thankyou for your wonderful comments so far:)

albone: originally I had a totally different scene planned for this, Reva read the script and decided she wanted to draw those two panels as you see there. So I had to revise my original script and decided that I'd narrate Reva's art. I'm actually going for more of what Loud_G originally mentioned below, in the comic, so that it's pacing is different to my original plan. I feel it suits the project myself.

trevora: Thanks! Warped: Cheers! Starwolf: Thankee! JnP: Heh! harry: Thanks, it's what I can do. I just don't do art :)

Tech magic ships rule. Quick question: that's a lot of descriptive text in the first panel, was there any inkling to draw that instead of write it? Just curious from an author point of view. ;)
JustNoPoint at 6:37AM, Aug. 22, 2008
Someone should say. "Well, actually yes.... it could... it could be good. Quit being so negative!"
harryq at 3:42AM, Aug. 22, 2008
Really enjoy the narration.

Steely: It depends on who/what that little flyer is carrying, but with that logo it can't be good at all. Loud_G: That's what I was aiming for :) amanda: Heheh! And yeah, I was trying to give folk a sense of scale. katyas: the falcon design, yes, that's the Mist Reaver. thefightingstranger: thanks! Azarr: Thanks! Adam: Hooorah! Yep, the Churchies are on the Waaaay!
Adam Black at 9:58AM, Aug. 21, 2008
Uh oh. Here comes The Church.
thefightingstranger at 8:32AM, Aug. 21, 2008
The designs of these air crafts are really cool.
amanda at 8:00AM, Aug. 21, 2008
(Another note - it's cool to know approx how big these ships are)
katyas at 7:56AM, Aug. 21, 2008
I remember seeing the hawk ship before - it's Talon's, right? I was just commenting again on how cool it was ... And ... I WANT that little ship - it looks like it would be FUUUUN!! to drone around in...
amanda at 7:55AM, Aug. 21, 2008
Nooo, they're coming after Kalon! Noooooo! I will protect you! ...well, he can probably take care of himself - I'd probably just get in the way and/or end up crying in a corner in terror. I'm so heroic ^.^
Loud_G at 6:24AM, Aug. 21, 2008
I love the narration. You've managed book quality in comic medium. Brilliant! Great art too ;) I can't wait to see the next update!
Steely Gaze at 6:18AM, Aug. 21, 2008
A steampunk Osprey? Now there's something I wouldn't have thought of. :) I agree with the guy on the right; "That can't be good". Truer words were never spoken!
